Course Project: Public Service Announcement

3/17/2012

Each semester in my introductory educational technology course, I require my undergraduate students to create a public service announcement. To be successful in this project, the student groups must use the skills learned in class: information literacy, video editing, digital storytelling, fair use, and creativity.  I also ask them to make age-appropriate PSA's; demonstrating their understanding of the cognitive level and motivation of students at different places in life.

I grade students on the following categories: Content Accuracy (5), Audience Response (5), Visuals (5), Technical Production (2), Fair Use (2), Slogan and Statistic (2), Title and Credits (2).  You can watch some of the submissions on my YouTube Playlist, as I require them to post the video online.
