It has been quite a long winter in Iowa and across the country, and I'm finally seeing signs of good things to come! Besides being able to see grass for the first time in months, other good events are "springing" up everywhere:

Throughout the semester, the president of West Chester University publishes a newsletter for the faculty and staff community. My project and the new funding from HP (Global Expansion of SciEthics Interactive through the HP Catalyst) was featured in the December issue on page 4. The notable mention in this campus-wide publication is a great honor for me and a testament to the impact of my research on the local community.
The new BBC documentary includes first person accounts of the role of social media in the Arab Spring. This 2-part series does an excellent job reviewing the upheaval and revolt in the past year, with emotional interviews from young adults in the middle of it all. I highly recommend adding it to your DVR queue.
